It's a technical and personal journey to create a true "home on wheels" that can withstand over 150 shoot days a year. You can see me finalizing details in the different zones, from the custom lighting and makeup station to the cozy daybed and compact bathroom, ensuring every element is perfect.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/6cf7c390-3eed-4441-9e12-fe8fc1b4d45d) - ![In a space of less than 80 sq. ft., creating a true sanctuary to unwind is my primary goal. This cozy daybed, which converts into a full bed for naps, is the heart of the lounge area. I layered multiple textures and prints with the cushions to add warmth and character, while an upcycled bajot serves as a versatile coffee table, making this nook both comfortable and practical.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/b3db6f32-411c-4eb8-8b51-6e172936baa2) - ![This view shows the functional core of the vanity van, where every inch is optimized for heavy use. The sage green paneling and rattan cabinetry house a full pantry with a fridge, induction cooktop, and microwave, all securely bolted. Adjacent to this, a discreetly placed door leads to a small washroom for the team, demonstrating how I integrate essential utilities without compromising the design's clean, calm aesthetic.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/f4b431af-5b9b-4471-8c79-995a43f142c4) - ![Being featured on the AD100 list for eight consecutive years is a surreal and humbling honor. This recognition from Architectural Digest reflects my core belief that every design should tell a story, rooted in authenticity and a deep respect for craftsmanship. It celebrates the journey and the passion my team and I pour into every single project.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/604d5a9b-08cf-45df-832f-55a8133dd602) - ![The soul of a space is often found in its smallest details. In this corner, I incorporated hand-painted graffiti of yoga poses to create a moment of calm amidst a busy schedule. This simple artwork, paired with a textured frame and an earthy vase on a wooden shelf, adds a personal, grounding touch that is both beautiful and durable enough for a mobile environment.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/72b7e5c9-e960-4144-af1f-308eb92e58d8) ## About Featured My vanity van designs are not just about aesthetics; they are built for the reality of 150 plus shoot days a year. I use boiling waterproof marine ply and vibration-proof mounting for every fixture, ensuring your pantry, vanity mirror, and daybed stay intact and looking beautiful, no matter how rough the road gets. Designing a mobile space under 80 sq. ft. requires a precise balance between a professional makeup station and a private lounge. My process starts with rigorous space optimization. I design custom daybeds that flip to become full beds, maximizing functionality without sacrificing comfort. For the pantry, I integrate induction cooktops and fridges using secure, vibration-proof cabinetry so everything remains stable after miles of travel. Aesthetics matter just as much as function. In these projects, I lean into a bohemian palette, using sage greens, warm wood tones, and hand-painted motifs to create a sense of calm. I bring in textures like rattan and soft linens to ensure the van feels less like a utility vehicle and more like a home. Each detail, from the lighting to the storage, is crafted to help you recharge between takes, turning a long workday into a more manageable experience. I work with local artisans to add touches that ground the space, creating an identity that feels uniquely yours even when you are on the move. ## About Darshini I am Darshini.
