When we design a kitchen block or a family temple, we treat these as sculptural interventions. We do not simply place furniture into a room. Instead, we integrate it into the architecture, often concealing storage or utilities within moving walls or monolithic forms. This eliminates visual clutter and maintains a clean, architectural dialogue across your home. ### Architecture as Furniture We view furniture as an extension of the room's volume. A desk, a kitchen island, or a temple unit is not merely a functional item but a geometric element that shapes how you traverse a space. By utilizing high-density materials like stone-filled cages or ribbed veneers, we create furniture that functions as a structural divider or a focal point, rather than just a utility. ### Kinetic and Fluid Motion Our designs often incorporate movement to solve spatial constraints. We utilize sliding panels, hidden study nooks, and articulated kinetic lighting to ensure that your home remains adaptable. A kitchen block might be detached from the ceiling to allow natural light to flow through, or a wall-mounted panel might move to reveal a workspace. This allows the function of a room to shift depending on your needs throughout the day. ### Materiality and Precision We focus on the tactile quality of materials. From the contrast of metal mesh and stone to the warmth of smoked oak veneer, our choices are deliberate. Every piece is developed through 3D form resolution and precise CAD shop drawings to ensure that the final result matches the concept. We pay close attention to internal hardware, using heavy-duty runners and soft-close mechanisms to ensure that the beauty of the piece is matched by its longevity and daily performance. ## About DIG Architects We are DIG Architects.
