The wafer paper is incredibly light, which allows me to create dramatic, flowing textures without the heavy weight of fondant. This keeps the sponge underneath soft and moist, ensuring the cake tastes just as good as it looks. I started working with wafer paper because I wanted to move away from the rigid look of traditional sugar paste. My Ruffle Paper Collection is all about movement. By layering thin, translucent sheets of edible paper, I can mimic the look of silk, organza, or cascading flower petals. ### Why choose a ruffle design? * **Modern Aesthetics:** These cakes look structured and sophisticated, making them perfect for contemporary weddings or formal anniversary dinners in Mumbai and Bangalore. * **Customization above 2kg:** We customise cakes only above 2kg. Cakes below 2kg cannot be customised, and exactly 2kg needs confirmation. Because the wafer paper can be tinted to match any color palette, I can blend the cake perfectly with your event decor. Whether you want a soft pastel ombré or a bold, monochromatic look, we can design it. * **Height and Drama:** The lightweight nature of the material means we can build taller, more impressive tiers without the structural issues that often come with heavy icing. ### My process When we work on a ruffle design, I start with a consultation to understand your theme. I often sketch out the flow of the ruffles to ensure they complement the venue and the scale of your event. If you are hosting a large celebration, I can incorporate dummy tiers into the design to add height, while keeping the cutting portion delicious and fresh. These cakes are a labor of love, requiring precise hand-folding for every single ripple.
