Because I use the grid method and apply multiple layers of paint to capture every detail, the process takes weeks, not days. If you are planning a portrait for a special date, it is best to reach out at least a month in advance so I can give your piece the time it needs. Painting is my therapy. It keeps me sane, and I am obsessed with the process of mixing colors and watching a blank canvas slowly come to life. When you see my work, you are seeing a result of 48-hour stretches where I am locked in my little art bubble, focusing on everything from the texture of a bridal lehenga to the spark in a pet's eyes. I rely on the grid method for high facial accuracy, ensuring the likeness is spot on before I start the long layering process with Camlin Artist Grade oil paints. It is a slow, meditative journey. Whether I am working on a spiritual piece with 3D kundan stones or a couple's portrait, I never rush. Each painting gets a clear varnish finish to protect it against yellowing, ensuring it lasts for years as a keepsake. ### Why Choose Oil for Your Portrait? * **Depth and Luminosity:** Unlike other mediums, oil paint gives skin tones and fabrics a realistic depth that catches the light beautifully. * **Built to Last:** With proper drying time and protective varnish, these paintings are meant to stay in your family for generations. * **The Personal Touch:** I love capturing the tiny quirks—the jewelry patterns, the fabric textures, or the exact smile you remember. Since I work from my studio in Mumbai, I ship these across India. Each piece is packed between hardboards or in a safety tube to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition. Sabr rakh, woh sabki sunta hai. It is a reminder I keep in my studio while working—patience is part of the art. ## About Deepanjali I am Deepanjali, a Mumbai-based artist who found my happy place in mixing colors and bringing faces to life on canvas.
