Here’s how I turn everyday items into unique decor, like upcycling used cans into colorful planters. It is all about being resourceful and adding a personal touch to your green space.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/9a919cce-9c92-4b9b-b164-23b35c6c22ca) ## About DIY & Upcycled Garden Decor You don't need a huge budget or fancy store-bought pots to start your garden. I show you how to take simple items like discarded tin cans or old glass bottles and transform them into functional, aesthetic planters using basic techniques. It is about being resourceful, managing small apartment spaces effectively, and building something that feels uniquely yours without adding to the landfill. ### The Art of the 'Jugaad' Garden In my experience, the most beautiful gardens aren't the ones with the most expensive imported ceramic pots. They are the ones with character. My approach to gardening is rooted in 'jugaad'—the art of finding clever, frugal fixes. We start by looking at what you already have. Those empty coffee cans, old glass jars, or even broken plastic bottles often just need a little bit of paint and a good drainage plan to become the perfect home for your new greens. ### Why Upcycling Works for Bengaluru Apartments Space is a luxury in our city, and a cluttered balcony can quickly feel overwhelming. When we upcycle, we prioritize functionality and vertical space. I help you map out your light conditions to ensure that whatever 'recycled' planter we use actually supports the plant's health. We aren't just decorating; we are creating a micro-ecosystem that thrives on your balcony ledge. ### My Process - **Site Assessment:** We look at your sunlight and wind exposure to pick plants that will actually survive, not just look good for a week. - **Material Sourcing:** I help you audit your home 'waste.' If it holds soil and drains well, it is a planter. - **Styling:** We integrate your new greens with existing furniture using macrame hangers or railing hooks to keep the floor clear. - **Sustainability:** We pair your upcycled decor with my bio-enzyme method, ensuring your plant care is zero-waste from start to finish. I share my own fails and bloopers openly. Plants will die and projects might not work on the first try. That is part of the journey. The goal is to build your confidence so that eventually, you won't need me to tell you which pot works where—you will just know. ## About YogaByShi I am Deepanshi.
