When the books mention running or jumping, we follow suit, often using colorful scarves or rhythm drums to turn a reading into a full-body experience. It keeps the little ones engaged and makes the story part of their own play, ensuring the narrative sticks long after the session ends. Movement is essential to how we tell stories. By incorporating songs, dance, and sensory props like play silks and hand drums, we help children physically embody the characters and emotions of the tales. It is rarely about sitting still for an hour; it is about participating in the narrative flow. ### Why Movement Matters Children learn best when they are active. By turning a reading session into an interactive performance, we help toddlers and young kids connect with the themes of friendship, nature, and culture. If a story is about being a lion, we roar. If it's about the wind, we use our scarves to create the breeze. ### The 'Making' Part After the reading, we transition into hands-on creativity. Whether it's paper folding, leaf art, or simple coloring, this segment helps ground the story's themes. It gives kids a chance to create a tangible takeaway that reminds them of the session. ### The Nature of Outdoor Play We believe the park is our best prop. From collecting fallen leaves for our art to running around when energy levels peak, we embrace the natural, often chaotic, rhythm of outdoor play.
