Take our 'Beat Hunt' drum circle, for instance—you don’t need a musical background or formal training to join. We provide the instruments, the space, and the guidance, so you can walk in with zero experience and walk out having co-created a rhythm with fellow community members. At Courtyard Koota, music is a conversation that flows across genres. We believe that whether you are a seasoned musician or someone who has never held a drum before, there is a place for you to engage with sound in our Kengeri space. ### Why Music at Koota? We focus on the intimacy of the performance and the learning process. You won't find sterile auditoriums here. Instead, you get sessions like our 'Many Moons' sound installations or the 'Alma Trio' workshops, where the barrier between the artist and the audience disappears. We host lecture-demonstrations where experts break down the 'raga bhava' of Carnatic music or the improvisational freedom of Jazz, allowing you to appreciate the craft behind the notes. ### What to Expect * **Interactive Learning:** Join workshops with artists who are as good at teaching as they are at performing. * **Genre Diversity:** We shift from the traditional roots of Hindustani and Carnatic classical to the experimental soundscapes of contemporary Jazz and Bamboo folk ensembles. * **Community Participation:** Our drum circles and quiz nights are designed to be low-pressure zones where the main goal is connection, not perfection. Whether you are looking to deepen your understanding of Indian music traditions, want to explore the history of jazz, or just want a Saturday evening spent surrounded by good acoustics and better company, our events calendar is built for the curious. ## About Courtyard Koota We are a collective—Natasha, Nanu, Sridevi, and Khushi—built on the belief that music belongs to everyone. We didn't just build a venue; we grew a community where you can learn, listen, and jam in a space that feels like home.
