We work with who they are to bring out their best. Training is not just a list of commands like 'sit' or 'stay'. It is communication. When I work with rescues like Ammu, I am not fixing a machine. I am helping a traumatized dog understand that their environment is safe. We used her natural breed instinct—her incredible sense of smell—to build her recall, rather than punishing her for getting distracted. This is the heart of reward-based training. It shifts the dynamic from 'do as I say' to 'let's figure this out together.' This approach applies to our professional students too.
