When I create a custom set or run a workshop, that same patience is what ensures every piece is as durable as it is expressive. The 'Manikarnika Women's Kala Award 2024' selection meant a lot to me because it showcased pieces that were born in the quiet corners of my Prabhadevi studio. Ceramics is not just about the final shape; it is a slow dialogue between clay and hands. Whether I am hand-building a sculptural piece for an exhibition or throwing mugs for a cafe's new menu, the core principles remain the same: intention, texture, and resilience. For those looking to bring this quality into their own space, the transition from artistic exploration to functional design is seamless. My work for restaurants and cafes follows the same rigorous standards that brought me to this recognition. I focus on high-fired stoneware that can handle the bustle of a commercial kitchen while retaining the personality of handmade pottery. If you are interested in the process, I invite you to join a workshop. We explore the same techniques that I use for my award-selected work, from centering the clay to glazing for durability. It is an opportunity to slow down and see how a lump of earth becomes something you use every single day. ## About Clay Explore I am Yashashri, and my studio in Prabhadevi is where I shape clay into art. I believe that whether it is a corporate gift or a set of restaurant bowls, every piece deserves the same attention as an exhibition-worthy sculpture.
