We fabricate rigid 1.5-inch galvanized iron (GI) frames to ensure the setup can withstand high winds without damaging your terrace floor. We use UV-stabilized HDPE netting with a 50% to 75% shade factor, which strikes the right balance for your vegetables and flowering plants to get enough light without wilting. ### Protecting Your Garden from Chennai’s Sun Most plants in Chennai struggle not because of lack of care, but because of the intense afternoon heat. A proper shade structure acts as a heat shield, regulating the temperature so you can grow vegetables and flowers even during the peak of summer. ### How We Build Our Structures We don't just tie nets to railings. Our process focuses on long-term durability: * **Custom Framing:** We fabricate rigid skeletons using 1-inch to 1.5-inch GI pipes. We apply red oxide primer and enamel paint to prevent rusting from our city's humidity. * **Smart Design:** We build box-type or slope-type trusses to ensure rainwater drains off rather than pooling on top, which prevents the net from sagging or tearing. * **Safe Anchoring:** We use grouted bolts or concrete block anchors. This keeps the structure rock-solid without drilling deep into your waterproofing, so your terrace stays leak-free. ### Netting That Works We select the right HDPE agricultural shade net—usually 50% to 75% density—depending on what you're growing. Turmeric or sensitive herbs need more shade, while flowering shrubs might need less. We secure these with UV-resistant clips so they don't break down after a few months in the sun. If you need a specific area covered, like a narrow walkway or a full rooftop farm, we customize the layout to fit your space perfectly. ## About Terrace Gardening We are Chennai Terrace Gardening, and we love turning empty, sun-baked spaces into lush green patches.
