You don't need to be an athlete to start, as our sessions focus on building confidence, helping you pick up the Ginga base step and find your rhythm with the Berimbau, even if you’ve never tried a martial art before. ### The Heart of the Game Unlike traditional martial arts that focus on strikes, Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian cultural practice where we trade movements, not blows. Whether you are in our Bangalore studio or joining us for a workshop in Mumbai, the goal remains the same: to move, play, and connect. ### Why Join Us? * **Movement for Everyone:** You don't need previous experience. We teach you how to move safely, starting with the *Ginga* (the base step) and moving into *au* (cartwheels) or *esquivas* (escapes). It is about body awareness and fun, not perfection. * **The Music:** The *Berimbau*, *Pandeiro*, and *Atabaque* are as important as the kicks. You will learn to sing in Portuguese and keep the rhythm that drives every game in the Roda. It is a full cultural immersion. * **Community First:** We are a tribe. From our annual Batizado festival where we welcome new members, to our regular weekly sessions, you will find a group of people who are here to support your growth, not compete against you. Whether you are looking for a unique way to build fitness or just want to step into a new rhythm, we have a space for you. If you are worried about coordination, do not be. Everyone starts as a beginner, and our instructors are here to guide you through the basics at your own pace. ## About Capoeira Academy I’m Ravi, and Capoeira has been my life since I was 14.
