Dressage is often called the 'dance' of horse riding, but it is really the foundation of safety and control. When you learn to communicate with your horse through subtle shifts in weight and leg pressure, you are not just riding; you are conversing. At CanterWoods, my approach to flatwork training in Gurgaon is grounded in classical techniques that prioritize the horse's suppleness over raw speed. ### What we cover in our flatwork sessions: * **Responsive Aids:** We teach you to stop relying on heavy reins. Instead, you will learn to use your seat and legs to guide the horse, which is critical for safety in any discipline. * **Flexibility Drills:** Using serpentine loops and transitions, we help your horse become more balanced. This is essential for preventing stiffness, especially if you plan to move on to show jumping later. * **The Sitting Trot:** This is the most challenging gait to master, and we break it down step-by-step. It is the ultimate test of your core strength and alignment. We keep these sessions in our 4.5-acre facility in Gwal Pahari. Because we have floodlit arenas, you do not have to worry about the daylight hours.
