It is not about freehand guessing; it is about breaking down facial structures into lines that won't smudge. You will work on practice sheets first, then move to skin, using specialized shading cones to create depth in eyes and lips. Bring your favorite reference photos, and we will turn them into permanent art. ### What We Cover in the Portrait Module Portraiture is the most requested skill I get asked about, but it is also the one that intimidates most artists. I created this crash course to demystify the process. We move away from generic floral designs and focus on: * **Mapping & Tracing:** How to scale a photo to the arm surface without losing proportions. We cover the grid system that keeps the face from looking distorted. * **Shading Techniques:** Understanding light sources. I show you how to use your henna cone to create gradients, mimicking the 3D look of a sketch. * **Feature Detailing:** Getting the eyes, lashes, and lips right. These are the make-or-break details for a recognizable portrait. * **Framing:** How to surround the face with henna elements—like mandalas or negative space borders—to make the portrait pop. ### Why Take This Course? You do not need to be a sketch artist to learn this. If you already have a steady hand with a henna cone, you have the mechanical skills. This workshop provides the technical 'how-to'. I am self-taught, so I share the hacks I used to fix my own mistakes—like which cone pressure prevents smudging and how to prep the skin for a deep, even stain. ### Practical Details * **Duration:** 4 hours, intensive. * **Inclusions:** All materials (cones, practice sheets, reference banks) are provided. You just need to bring your focus. * **Locations:** I conduct these sessions in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, and periodically in Chennai. * **Prerequisites:** You should have a handle on basic cone control and standard henna application. This is an advanced module, not for total beginners. After the course, you will have your first completed portrait to take home and the confidence to start taking custom commission requests for birthdays and anniversaries. ## About Caffeinated Henna I’m Radhika.
