The glass trap keeps moisture in, so even if you forget to water it for weeks, the ferns and moss inside will stay perfectly green. They are the perfect solution for anyone who loves the look of a dense, lush forest on their desk but lacks the time for daily plant care. ### How a Cloche Terrarium Actually Works Unlike an open planter, a closed glass dome creates a mini greenhouse effect. The humidity trapped inside evaporates and condenses on the glass, then drips back down into the soil. It is a continuous, self-watering cycle. ### Why these pieces are different: * **Low Maintenance:** You don't need a green thumb. These are built for people who want greenery without the daily chore list. They need very little attention, just the occasional misting if the soil looks dry. * **Hand-Curated Landscapes:** Every cloche features a specific design, often using treated driftwood, lava rocks, and high-quality moss. I don't just put plants in a jar; I arrange them to mimic a natural forest floor or a mountain scene. * **Stable Ecosystems:** Before any piece leaves my studio in Gurugram, it has been acclimatized and stabilized for weeks. This ensures that the plants are already adjusted to the environment inside the glass. ### Where to place them These pieces thrive in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct, harsh sunlight, as the glass can magnify the heat and cook your plants. They are perfect for office desks, bedside tables, or that one shelf in your living room that needs a bit of life. If you are in Delhi NCR and want to see how these might look in your space, drop me a message—I can help you pick the right size for your specific corner. ## About ByTheLeaf I started ByTheLeaf with a vintage typewriter and a dream to bring nature into urban homes. My goal is to make plant care stress-free, so I only design terrariums that are genuinely low-maintenance. If you are looking for a piece of nature that survives even your busiest weeks, these cloches are built for exactly that.
