We use FIDE-compliant equipment and structured drills—including whiteboard 'Mate in 2' puzzles—to help kids master openings like the Italian Game while sharpening their focus and decision-making speed. At BTA, we treat the chessboard as a tool for cognitive development. Our weekend sessions are split between theory and practice, ensuring students do not just learn moves, but understand the strategy behind them. **What the sessions cover:** * **Foundations:** Beginners start with the basics, learning piece movement and simple tactics. * **Intermediate Tactics:** We introduce concepts like castling, the Sicilian Defence, and the Italian Game. * **Advanced Play:** Students work on endgame checkmating patterns, clock usage, and competitive match simulation. **The learning environment:** We keep our classrooms simple and focused. You will find standard FIDE-compliant vinyl boards and weighted plastic Staunton pieces. We prioritize consistent peer groups, allowing students to form stable practice rivalries that keep them engaged long-term. Our instructors emphasize memory and pattern recognition through whiteboard drills, which keeps the 'brain gym' aspect active and engaging. Whether your child is just starting or is ready for tournament-level play, our Banaswadi academy provides the structure and attention they need to progress. ## About Butterfly Talent Academy We’re Butterfly Talent Academy, or BTA as our family calls us.
