I use music, puppets, and interactive games to ensure kids aren't just listening to a story, but actively living it. Whether it is a school visit or an online masterclass for parents, the goal is to make reading a joyful, active experience rather than a task. I started Bukmuk to introduce children to the real gurus, which are books, but I quickly realized that the spark of reading often happens when children engage with stories in a group. ### Why We Host Workshops Reading can feel solitary, but it thrives in a community. My workshops are designed to break the barriers between children and books. Using puppets, music, and thematic activities, I help children relate to characters, understand emotions, and express themselves. ### Our Engagement Impact We have partnered with institutions like St. Xavier’s High School and Amogh Early Learning Centre to facilitate storytelling sessions. These aren't just fun hours; they are practical demonstrations for parents and teachers on how to raise a reader. We discuss: - Techniques for read-aloud sessions that captivate young minds. - How to choose age-appropriate books from our collection of over 40,000 titles. - Using storytelling to build empathy and kindness in children. ### Join Us From school literacy events to 90-minute parent masterclasses, these sessions focus on making the 'Bachpan' (childhood) of your little ones rich with imagination. If you are a school administrator looking for an engaging literary guest, or a parent wanting to learn the craft of storytelling, reach out. Let’s bring the magic of stories to your space. ## About Bukmuk Hi, I'm Shefali. I believe books are our silent gurus, and my mission is to create a community where kids and parents connect through stories. I’m just a mom who loves bringing characters to life with puppets and a little bit of magic.
