In our live Zoom sessions, we break down complex subjects, like a portrait or a landscape, into basic shapes. It is a follow-along process, so even if your first attempt looks more like a doodle, you will understand exactly how to build depth, texture, and light from scratch. Sketching is the foundation of every great artwork, but it is often treated as overly technical. At Bloom and Grow, we strip away the intimidation factor. Our curriculum focuses on demystifying pencil sketching techniques, such as hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, and smudging, to transform flat lines into dynamic, three-dimensional forms. ### How We Teach We keep our batches small (limited to 5-10 students) because art needs individual attention. When you join, you are not just watching a pre-recorded video; you are in a live, interactive session. Our teachers guide you through the process in real-time, helping you correct angles, proportions, and pressure points as you work. If you miss a class, do not worry, because we provide access to session recordings for self-paced practice. ### What You Will Cover * **Foundation:** Understanding shapes, lines, and basic proportions. * **Technique:** mastering tool control, from charcoal sticks to graphite pencils. * **Texture & Depth:** Learning to use smudging and hatching to add shadow and contrast to objects. * **Subject Mastery:** Drawing everything from simple still-life objects like a vintage gramophone to complex facial portraits. We believe in 'happy accidents.' If your sketch does not turn out perfectly the first time, that is part of the learning. We encourage students to experiment with their imagination, whether they are imagining tiny cacti inside a lightbulb or sketching their favorite characters. Our goal is to make sure you have the confidence to keep drawing long after the session ends. ## About Bloom and Grow We’re Bloom and Grow, a team of artists and teachers who believe art shouldn't be intimidating.
