It is because current Indian regulations classify pet food as 'animal fodder,' and we refuse to fit into that category. Instead, we use independent lab testing to verify every batch for nutrient content and safety—because our pets are family, not cattle. When we started, it wasn't about building a brand. It was about a wake-up call. I realized that my own dog, Max, was eating kibble that was essentially glorified junk—full of corn starch, sugar, and fillers. In India, most commercial pet food lacks the strict regulations we expect for our own meals, and that just didn't sit right with us. We decided to do things differently. At BLEP, our 'Why' is simple: transparency. We cook human-grade, preservative-free meals using real chicken, lamb, mackerel, and fresh veggies. If you wouldn't eat it, why should your pet? **What we're standing for:** * **Zero BS:** No mystery meat, no artificial coloring, and definitely no sugar hidden as 'complex carbohydrates.' * **Human-Grade Ingredients:** We source ingredients you would find in your own kitchen. Chicken breast, paneer, pumpkin, and quinoa. * **Science-Backed:** Since we choose not to follow the 'fodder' classification, we handle our own lab testing. Every recipe is checked for essential nutrients and safety standards. Whether you're in the NCR region or shipping across India, our goal remains the same. We want to stop the cycle of 'slow poison' in pet bowls. We use retort packaging to keep our food shelf-stable for 12 months without any preservatives, giving you the convenience of dry food with the nutrition of a home-cooked meal. It is time to demand better for our fur babies. ## About Blep We’re just a team of pet lovers who got fed up with the junk passed off as pet food. We started making meals we’d eat ourselves, and honestly, we’ve even tasted them. For us, it’s not just a brand; it's a movement to give our dogs and cats the life they actually deserve.
