For our 'Stripe Play' project, we synchronized the flooring patterns with the building’s shadow lines to create a cohesive rhythm. When the design feels this intentional, even a tight corporate plaza starts to feel expansive and restorative, turning a standard break area into a space where teams actually want to step out. ### Designing for Workspace Wellness Corporate environments often suffer from being overly clinical or entirely concrete-bound. Our approach to commercial plaza design is to act as a bridge between the workspace and the outdoors. We focus on 'Biophilic' principles, ensuring that greenery isn't just an aesthetic addition but a functional part of the building's infrastructure. ### Our Technical Approach 1. **Materiality & Rhythm:** We use hardscaping to echo the building's facade. By aligning paving patterns with the structure’s sciography (shadow play), we create a visual dialogue between the built form and the garden. 2. **Integrated Lighting:** Lighting isn't just about safety. We use IP65-rated LED spikes and integrated strip lighting within benches to ensure these plazas remain usable and inviting after sunset, extending the value of your commercial asset. 3. **Sustainable Drainage:** A beautiful plaza is useless if it floods. We implement concealed plumbing and high-density drainage cells under planters to protect slab integrity, especially for elevated corporate terraces. ### The Human Element We prioritize layouts that encourage movement. Whether it is a white gravel courtyard designed for quiet reflection or a dynamic plaza with sculptural benches for team interactions, the goal is to create environments that improve employee well-being. We move away from generic, high-maintenance landscaping and toward hardy, sustainable planting palettes that provide year-round interest with minimal fuss.
