It involves calculating structural load capacities, installing automated irrigation systems, and selecting plant species that thrive in your specific micro-climate, ensuring your exterior remains vibrant without excessive maintenance. Integrating greenery into a building envelope does more than improve visual appeal. It serves a functional purpose by acting as natural thermal insulation, which helps reduce interior temperatures during Delhi's intense summers. Our approach to facade design considers the orientation of the building, sun-path analysis, and wind patterns to ensure that your vertical garden or green wall not only survives but thrives. We start by assessing the structural load of your existing facade. This is critical in urban residential projects where weight and drainage are primary concerns. We use lightweight soil mediums and high-density planter systems that integrate seamlessly with your building's finish, whether it is modern plaster, stone cladding, or metal screens. Our design process includes: * **Climate Analysis:** Selecting plant species that are resistant to local pollutants and capable of withstanding the city's temperature fluctuations. * **Automated Systems:** Integrating hidden drip-irrigation lines connected to timers, minimizing manual upkeep while ensuring consistent hydration. * **Structural Integrity:** Planning for proper waterproofing and drainage channels to protect your building's primary structure from moisture damage. From a design perspective, we treat the facade as an extension of your home's interior. By framing windows with cascading plants or using green screens to provide privacy, we create an exterior that changes with the seasons, bringing life and fresh air to your immediate surroundings. ## About Biha Architects We are Biha Architects, a collective of designers who believe a building should feel alive.
