## About Playback for Web Series: Heeramandi

Recording for a series like Heeramandi wasn't just about hitting the right notes; it required immersing myself in the specific emotional landscape of the era. When I step into the studio, I focus on the 'mizaaj' (mood) of the composition, ensuring my vocals carry the weight and grace the script demands. Whether you need a haunting Ghazal or an empowering anthem, I bring the same dedication to capturing the authentic soul of your story.

My approach to playback singing is rooted in my training in Indian classical music. I believe that a song, whether it is for a web series or a feature film, must do more than just fill a background silence; it must tell a story. My process begins with understanding the context of the scene. I often ask for the script or the character's motivation to ensure the 'harkats' and 'taans' I employ enhance the emotional narrative.

Having worked on large-scale projects like Heeramandi, I am comfortable with the demands of high-pressure studio environments. I am equally at home recording a raw, stripped-back Thumri that requires absolute purity of voice as I am adapting to a complex Bollywood arrangement. My technical expertise in Thumri, Ghazal, and Dadra allows me to bring a sense of historical authenticity to period pieces, while my experience with jingles and independent tracks helps me adapt to contemporary, fast-paced requirements.

I view the studio as my sanctuary. It is where I collaborate closely with composers and directors, offering input on how to best align the vocal texture with the director's vision.
