We take it slow, move at their pace, and keep the experience stress-free until they are paddling confidently on their own. ### How We Build Confidence in the Water Many pet parents worry their dog won't take to the water, especially if they've only ever experienced a bathtub or a slippery bathroom tile. At Barks2Beaks, we treat swimming as a partnership, not a chore. For first-timers, the process is simple: * **Acclimatization:** We start on the steps, letting them sniff the water and feel it against their paws without pressure. * **Hands-on Support:** I act as the dedicated in-water handler for beginners, using belly support to ensure they feel safe and buoyant. * **Safety Gear:** We have life jackets available for pups who need a little extra help with balance. * **Positive Reinforcement:** It is all about making the water a 'yes' place. We use play and encouragement rather than force. ### Why Swimming is Great for Your Dog Beyond just being a fun weekend activity, swimming is fantastic for a dog's health.
