Whether you are a total beginner or an improver, my focus remains on the Tango walk, posture, and the subtle shift in weight that defines the 'abrazo' connection. It is not about looking perfect; it is about how you feel inside and how you respond to your partner. After training in Buenos Aires, I returned to Bangalore with one mission: to demystify Tango. Many people think they need prior experience or a natural sense of rhythm to start, but I have seen people from all walks of life find their groove in my studio. My method, TangoShastra, is not about rote memorization. It is a scientific breakdown of the dance that focuses on the mechanics of leading and following. By switching roles in class, you learn to listen, not just execute. We start with the basics, such as the walk, the embrace, and how to catch the beat, and move towards complex figures like Ochos and Colgadas once you are ready. You will not find rigid hierarchies here. Whether you join our weekend bootcamps or the 8-week foundation course, you will be part of a community. We host Milongas and social nights where the goal is to dance, meet people, and enjoy the music. If you are worried about not having a partner, do not be. Our classes are designed to balance numbers and encourage rotation. Come as you are, wear comfortable shoes or socks, and let us start the conversation. ## About Roopa Math I am Roopa. I left my engineering career to build a space where Tango is a conversation, not a show. I guide my students through the TangoShastra method, ensuring every step feels like a natural connection rather than a rehearsed move.
