Whether your child is starting with the ukulele or picking up the violin, our instructors use a song-based approach, meaning they will be playing a full, recognizable melody by the end of their first session, keeping them motivated and excited to return. Learning an instrument provides children with more than just musical ability, it is a workout for the brain that enhances focus, memory, and patience. At our Andheri West studio, we remove the pressure often associated with formal music exams, replacing it with an environment of kindness and curiosity. **Our Teaching Approach** For younger students, we find that the ukulele and violin are excellent starting points. We often employ a hybrid Suzuki philosophy for violin, which focuses on ear training and playing by heart before introducing complex notation. This helps children build confidence because they are not bogged down by reading sheets before they can hold the instrument comfortably. **Why Parents Choose BAM** * **Trinity & ABRSM Expertise:** While our sessions feel relaxed, our team consists of highly qualified teachers with Trinity College and ABRSM certifications. You get the benefits of a rigorous technical foundation delivered in a way that feels like play. * **Small, Supportive Batches:** We strictly cap our group sessions at 5 students. This ensures your child receives individual attention, allowing the instructor to guide their posture and technique in real time. * **A Space for Expression:** We want the studio to feel like a second home. Whether it is mastering a Bollywood hit or a classical piece, we encourage children to express themselves, celebrate their small wins, and learn that it is perfectly okay to make mistakes. If you are looking for an activity that builds a child’s confidence and patience, rather than just another after-school lesson, our doors are open. We invite you to visit our Andheri studio to see a class in action. ## About BAM Academy of Music I’m Brendan, and my team at BAM believes music is for everyone, regardless of age.
