In my nursery, I have seen this happen to everything from delicate palms to hardy karonda bushes. Before you add more water, check your soil drainage. If the soil stays soggy, it is time to shift to a well-draining mix and introduce a fungicide spray to stop the rot in its tracks. ### Diagnosing the Problem Gardening is not just about planting, it is about keeping them alive. Whether you are dealing with yellowing leaves on your Arica palm or the sudden blackish spots on your fruit plants, the issue usually stems from one of three things: overwatering, poor soil aeration, or pests. ### The Overwatering Trap Delhi homes often deal with unexpected heavy rains or drainage issues, causing root rot. If you see leaves turning red, black, or yellow, stop watering immediately. Check the roots. If they are mushy, trim them carefully and repot in a fresh mix with cocopeat and perlite for better aeration. Use seaweed extracts and NPK blends to boost immunity, especially after a spell of bad weather. Always ensure your pots have proper drainage holes.
