I am looking for the humidity, the chatter of the crowd, and the rhythm of the street. Whether it is handling a sudden rain shower during an outdoor session or capturing the energy of a festival, my goal is to teach you how to embrace the mess and find your flow in the real world. ### More Than Just Drawing I believe art is a language we speak together. My journey into urban sketching started with solitude, but it truly blossomed when I started joining groups. Being part of communities like the Urban Sketchers (USK) has been transformative. It is about more than just the output on paper; it is about the camaraderie that forms when you are sitting on a footpath in Nagpur or a park in Bangalore, sharing brushes and stories. ### What You Can Expect When I host or participate in these events, my focus is on the process. I want to show you that you do not need an art degree to capture a scene. We focus on: * **En Plein Air Techniques:** How to set up quickly, pick a vantage point, and adapt to changing light. * **The Power of 'Messing Up':** My workshops are judgment-free zones. I encourage participants to embrace the ink splatters and perspective errors because that is where the character of the art comes from. * **Community Connection:** These gatherings are about meeting new people, sharing snacks, and finding inspiration in the surroundings, whether it is a heritage site or a local cafe. ### Bringing the Community to You Whether it is a festival demo, a corporate team-building sketchwalk, or a casual workshop in the park, I bring the same energy I discovered at events like the Nagpur Sketch Fest. My setup is portable, my methods are adaptable, and the goal is always to leave the event with more than just a drawing—a new perspective and some art friends. Let’s make something together. ## About Basit I’m Basit. I used to sketch alone in my room, but finding the urban sketching community totally changed my game. Now, I love hosting workshops and joining events where we can all just put pen to paper, mess up, and make something real together.
