I painted this live, or 'en plein air', to truly feel the energy of the drums and the sea of people. This print, available framed or unframed, is a way to bring that incredible warmth and culture into your own space.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/b2996be2-81ca-4d56-b124-a745ef6e1145) - ![What if Howl and Sophie visited India? I imagined them in the serene, snowy landscapes of Ladakh for the January page of my 'Studio Ghibli: The Indian Chronicles' calendar. I do not use digital filters to create the final look, what you see is the texture of the paper and the layers of paint I have carefully built up over hours in my studio. Art is my way of slowing down. This collection is a bridge between my personal practice and the work I create for others. You will find my 'Studio Ghibli: The Indian Chronicles' series here, where I reimagine animated worlds set against the backdrop of Indian landscapes, a project that is very close to my heart. ### My Process I work primarily with traditional mediums like watercolour, gouache, and acrylic. When you commission a piece, I involve you in the process, sharing work-in-progress updates. For digital art, I use Procreate to experiment with light and texture, creating vibrant, dreamlike scenes. Whether I am painting at a bustling brewery, a quiet beach in Tanur, or my own studio in Bengaluru, my goal is always to capture the quiet chaos of the moment. ### Working Together If you see something here that speaks to you, we can work together to turn your own stories into art. I handle custom portraits, pet studies, and unique landscapes. Since all my physical artwork is handmade on 300 GSM cold-press paper or stretched canvas, I ensure every detail is preserved before it leaves my studio. If you have an idea for a custom watercolour or digital illustration, let us chat about the details. ## About Basit I am Basit, and I just love capturing life's little stories on paper.
