## About The Art of Joinery & Assembly

In our workshops, you do not just glue pieces together and hope for the best. You learn the mechanics behind every connection, from why a dowel needs fluting for proper glue distribution to how a cam-lock system provides the structural advantage needed for modern, flat-pack furniture. It is the critical difference between a project that holds up for a month and one that lasts for decades.

### Traditional Joinery: The Foundation
Good joinery is the spine of furniture making. Whether you are working with solid timber or engineered board, the strength of your final piece depends entirely on how you connect the components. At our centre in Malleshwaram, we train students to approach assembly with an engineering mindset.

We emphasize classic techniques like the mortise and tenon. This is not just about historical accuracy; it is the most robust way to join solid wood. Students learn to cut these joints with precision, understanding wood movement and how to account for it so the structure does not split over time.

Understanding these is essential for anyone looking to work in modular furniture manufacturing.
