We use a delicate play of light, shadow, and soft fabric to sculpt environments that shift from daylight charm to twilight magic. ## Photos and videos - [Video: A video showing the transition from day to night in our "Courtyard's Nightfall" theme. Whether it is using the warmth of hundreds of pillar candles to ground a grand space or suspending crystal chandeliers to draw the eye upward, our goal is to manipulate the mood so the space feels distinctly yours, regardless of the venue size. We play with the transition from day to night, ensuring that as the sun sets, your event reveals a new, glowing personality. Lighting design is rarely just about visibility. It is the invisible architect of your event. We view every space as a blank canvas where light functions as a tool to define zones, hide imperfections, and highlight the beauty of the architecture. ### The Architecture of Light We focus on layered lighting schemes. This means moving beyond standard floodlights to mix the warmth of candle flames, the precise direction of spot beams, and the soft diffusion of fairy lights. By combining these, we create depth and contrast. For a Sangeet, this might mean a high-energy rig that mimics the excitement of the music; for a ceremony, it involves soft, steady glows that focus all attention on the rituals taking place. ### Drapery as a Canvas Fabric is not merely a cover. When we drape a ceiling or an entrance, we are altering the acoustics and the perceived size of a room. Heavy velvet can bring an intimate, cozy feel to an expansive hall, while light, airy chiffon can soften a stark, modern space. Our fabric choices are dictated by the mood—rich, opulent folds for a grand reception, or breezy, tassel-finished swags for a daytime brunch. ### Why Lighting Matters - **Mood Control:** Lighting dictates how guests interact. Dim, warm lighting encourages conversation and relaxation, while brighter, focused lights direct energy toward the dance floor or stage. - **Spatial Transformation:** We use ceiling installations and floor-level lighting to break up large, cold venues into smaller, welcoming pockets of space. - **Photographic Quality:** We coordinate with your photographers to ensure the light we install enhances their frames, rather than washing them out. Every event we design in Mumbai or at destination venues starts with a conversation about what you want your guests to feel when they step inside. Let us help you paint your story with light. ## About Atelier by Prerna Joshi We are dreamers who believe that every space holds a secret mood waiting to be unlocked.
