Backbends are about more than flexibility; they are about strength, control, and building trust in your spine. Let me guide you to open your heart and build that foundation, one part at a time.

## About Mastering Backbends

Backbends often go wrong because people force the lower back to do all the work, which leads to pain rather than progress. In my sessions, we never just push into an arch. Instead, we focus on opening the thoracic spine and shoulders first. If you are feeling stiffness in your upper back or pinching in your lumbar region, we shift the approach completely. By using blocks, walls, and wheels, we create the necessary space before we even attempt the full expression of the pose.

### Building Flexibility Safely

Many students come to me thinking they need to be 'born flexible' to master backbends like Chakrasana (Wheel Pose). This is not true. Backbends are a functional strength movement. My method, which I call *ek-ek part pe kaam* (working on each part), breaks down complex shapes into manageable drills.

### How We Use Props for Alignment

- **Wall Work:** We use walls to build trust. When you practice drop-backs against a wall, you learn to control your descent without the fear of falling.
- **Yoga Wheels & Blocks:** These aren't just for support; they are for feedback. A block in Vajrasana or a wheel under your spine helps you understand where you are tight and where you need to breathe more.
- **Shoulder Openers:** Most back-bending blocks happen because the shoulders are tight. We spend dedicated time on chest opening exercises so your spine doesn't have to compensate for your shoulders.

### Addressing Common Pain Points

If you have a history of back pain, do not force these poses. In my online and private classes, I analyze your video feed in real-time to adjust your alignment. We might work on Ustrasana (Camel Pose) with a block to reduce the load on your lower back while still getting the extension benefits. My goal is to ensure you finish practice feeling energized, not stiff or sore. Whether you are in my Gurgaon studio or joining from home, you will get the same focus on safe progression.
