Iyengar. You are not just attending a fitness class here; you are stepping into a traditional method where every adjustment with a chair, rope, or block is done with a specific purpose, exactly the way Guruji taught me over the decades. The wisdom of B.K.S. Iyengar is not just theory. It is a living practice. At my shala in Jayanagar, we maintain this approach by focusing on rigorous alignment and the intelligent use of props. This is not about speed or sweat. It is about understanding your body's limits and using support to move beyond them safely. When you join a session, whether it is an intensive workshop or a regular class, you get the same direct instruction I received. We work on the foundation—standing poses, inversions, and restorative practice—to ensure long-term spinal health and clarity. My students learn that props like wooden bricks and metal chairs are not shortcuts, but tools that reveal the potential of an asana. If you have been practicing yoga but feel you have hit a plateau, this traditional approach offers a different path. It is honest, disciplined work, and it requires your full attention.
