Whether you are working with live objects or a still life setup, we focus on how light hits a surface to create depth and shadow. It is about understanding the geometry underneath the subject, which is the secret to sketching anything from a simple leaf to complex anatomy with confidence. ### Building Your Artistic Foundation Great art is built on observation, not just talent. In our foundation course, we strip away the intimidation factor of art and focus on the mechanics of seeing. You will spend time learning how to break down complex shapes into simple geometric forms, a skill that serves as the bedrock for everything from acrylic painting to realistic portraiture. ### What You Will Learn Our curriculum is designed to sharpen your technical ability in three core areas: * **Perspective & Proportion:** Learning to map out your canvas so your final piece has structural integrity. * **Light & Shadow:** Mastering tonal shifts. This is what separates a flat drawing from a work of art that feels three-dimensional. * **Live Object Studies:** We move away from copying photos. Drawing from life allows you to understand how texture and reflection interact with light in the real world. ### Frequently Asked Questions **Do I need to be good at drawing to join?** Absolutely not. This course is for beginners. We start with basic pencil strokes and move at your pace. **Where are these classes held?** We host these foundation sessions at our studios in Borivali West and Kandivali West. **What supplies do I need?** We provide a list of essentials like drawing books and pencils. The focus here is on the process, so we keep the barrier to entry low. ## About ArtVilla Academy We are ArtVilla Academy, a space where students of all ages turn blank canvases into something meaningful. We believe the process is the real teacher, so we celebrate the mistakes and the practice sessions just as much as the final result.
