Every piece starts from the photo you send me, drawn by hand on 200 GSM acid-free paper using professional-grade graphite and charcoal. I share work-in-progress shots with you so you can see the likeness and detailing come together before I finalize the sketch and ship it in a safe, crush-proof tube. ### My Approach to Realistic Art I believe in honesty when it comes to art. A good portrait isn't just about drawing lines; it is about catching a mood—the way someone smiles, the texture of a saree, or the focus in their eyes. Whether you are ordering a black and white graphite piece or a detailed charcoal sketch, my priority is creating a permanent keepsake for your home. ### The Commission Process Ordering a handmade portrait is straightforward. You send me a high-quality reference photo, and we discuss the size and style. * **Reference Photos:** The better the photo, the better the sketch. Clear lighting and high resolution help me capture fine details like hair texture and skin tones. * **Work-in-Progress:** I keep you updated with shots of the sketch while I work. This ensures you are happy with the progress before I apply the fixative spray to seal the drawing. * **Materials:** I use Faber-Castell graphite and charcoal on 200 GSM Brustro paper. These materials ensure your portrait doesn't yellow or fade over time. ### What to Expect Art takes time. Depending on the complexity and the number of faces, I spend anywhere from 3 to 48 hours on a single piece. I take pride in the details, so I do not rush. Once the drawing is complete, I package it in a heavy-duty mailing tube to ensure it reaches you without creases or damage. If you are looking for a gift for a loved one, a customized pencil portrait is a personal choice that stands the test of time. I am based in Mumbai but I ship across India, so your location does not matter. ## About Mahipal Puri I am Mahipal. For me, art is the only reality that matters, and I pour that passion into every sketch I make. If you want a realistic portrait that captures an expression rather than just a shape, I am here.
