In my studio, we swap brushes for palette knives to layer acrylics, build depth, and create art that truly stands out. ## Photos and videos - [Video: This video shows a student learning the art of knife painting, creating a colourful abstract piece with rich texture. You do not need steady lines or perfect blends here, you just need to apply the paint, layer it thick, and watch the textures come alive on your canvas. It is perfect for anyone wanting a break from digital screens and a way to get their hands creative. ### Why We Love the Palette Knife When we use brushes, we focus on blending and smooth finishes. When we switch to palette knives, the rules change. We focus on building 'impasto' or thick, textured layers. This is how we create those vibrant sunset scenes or abstract shapes that seem to pop right off the canvas. It is a fantastic way to understand depth and light without worrying about technical perfection. ### What You Will Learn in My Studio In our Mulund studio sessions, we work with acrylic paints because they hold texture beautifully and dry relatively quickly. You will learn: * **Holding the Knife:** How to angle your palette knife to scrape, spread, and layer paint. * **Creating Dimension:** How to mix colours directly on the canvas to get those rich, marbling effects. * **Abstract to Realistic:** We start with simple abstract patterns to get comfortable, then move to landscapes or textured objects like flowers or Ganesha portraits. ### A Space to Just Create My classes are kept to small groups of 4 to 6 students. This is intentional. I want you to feel comfortable making a mess, experimenting with your own colour palette, and trying again if you do not like the first result. There is no right or wrong here, just the process of turning a blank board into something full of personality. Whether you are a teen prepping for exams or an adult looking for a creative outlet, you will walk away with a piece of art that looks and feels like it came from you. ## About Kreena Gosar Hi, I am Kreena!
