Here is a collection of my sketches made with patience, focus, and time. ## Photos and videos - ![I created this pen artwork to express a moment that is beyond words. The two hands, each with different colors and details, represent a connection that I can only feel. It's a piece about emotion and unspoken understanding.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/b4cf35de-c147-4d6d-983a-dddc24d8f1cb) - [Video: This is a time-lapse of a graphite pencil portrait I did of MC Stan. I focused on getting the shading and details right, especially on the sunglasses and chain. This kind of realistic portrait drawing requires a lot of patience and focus.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/41b8adc8-aa51-4dfe-b3c7-1d428c6368d3) - ![This is one of my charcoal drawings of Ganesh ji. If you are looking to get a sketch done, please know that I need a clear, high-resolution reference photo to get the details right, as I draw every feature, strand of hair, and shadow by hand to ensure the final piece feels alive. I started with pencil and charcoal because of their simplicity. There is a raw power in lines that color sometimes covers up. Whether I am sketching a famous face like MC Stan to practice my realism or drawing a deity like Ganesh Ji, my goal remains the same: to get the shading perfect. I am not perfect, and I am still learning every day. But that is why I value this medium. When I work on a commission, I don't rush. I build the sketch in layers, starting with light graphite markings and slowly introducing charcoal for those deep, moody blacks. **What to expect when you order:** - **Reference:** I work best with high-quality, clear photos where the lighting is good. This helps me capture expressions. - **Material:** I use smooth grain cartridge paper or Bristol sheets (180 to 200 GSM) to make sure the charcoal sets properly. - **Protection:** Once the sketch is finished, I apply a fixative spray. I deliver the work unframed in a clear plastic sleeve, sandwiched between rigid cardboard to keep it safe from smudging or bending during shipping. If you have a specific idea or a portrait you want to see on paper, let me know. I put hours into every piece, and I treat your commission with the same focus I apply to my own art. ## About Somesh Halder I believe art is a form of meditation. Whether it is a pencil sketch of a loved one or a charcoal drawing of a deity, I spend hours on every line to make it perfect. I am always learning, improving, and putting my soul into every sheet of paper.
