## About Iyengar Yoga: Precision with Props

Many students think Iyengar yoga is only for the flexible, but it is actually designed to help those who are stiff or healing. In these classes, I use wall ropes and wooden blocks specifically to bridge the gap if you are dealing with a stiff back or a lingering injury. You are not just stretching here; you are learning how to decompress your spine and move with correct biomechanics.

Students often walk into my studio in Sector 57, Gurugram, thinking they need to be 'fit' to start. My goal is to dismantle that myth. True yoga is not about the pose; it is about the precision of your alignment. When we use a chair for a backbend or a rope for spinal traction, we are not taking a shortcut. We are creating a stable environment where your nervous system feels safe enough to release deep-seated tension.

Whether you are working through chronic lower back pain or simply want to understand how your body functions in a pose like Trikonasana, these props offer tactile feedback that a mat alone cannot provide. In my sessions, we focus on static holds, allowing the muscles to lengthen and the mind to settle. This is not a fast flow where you rush to the next movement. It is a slow, methodical study of your own anatomy.

By focusing on the 'Aahar, Vihaar, and Vichar' of your life alongside your physical practice, we help you build awareness. This is for anyone looking for a practice that addresses the root cause of physical discomfort rather than just masking it. If you have hesitated to start yoga because of a past injury or lack of mobility, these classes will show you that there is always a way to practice effectively if you have the right tools.
