In my classes, we break down objects into basic shapes and build upon them with shading to develop strong observational drawing skills.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/c323ad3b-3fc3-4eed-a8d9-92e181abf381) ## About Foundational Drawing Skills We don't just ask students to draw what they see. We teach them to break every complex object, whether it is an apple or a vegetable, into basic geometric shapes first. By understanding light, shadow, and perspective before adding any color, even our youngest artists learn to create depth and realism that truly pops off the page. ### Why Foundational Drawing Matters Realism is not magic, it is a skill. Whether you are a teen prepping for NID, NIFT, and UCEED entrance exams or a younger student building a hobby, the principles of observational drawing remain the same. ### Our Approach * **Geometric Breakdown:** We start with the 'why' behind the 'what.' Before pencil touches paper, we analyze the structure of the subject. Every complex form is just a collection of circles, triangles, and squares. * **Mastering Light & Shadow:** This is where drawings come alive. We teach you to identify the light source, map out highlights, mid-tones, and core shadows. This logic makes a drawing feel three-dimensional. * **Color Theory & Blending:** Once the form is solid, we move to color. We practice layering and blending to ensure that a simple fruit drawing does not look flat or amateur. * **Exam-Ready Precision:** For our older students targeting architecture or design schools, this foundational rigor is non-negotiable. We replicate the timed, high-pressure environments of the Elementary and Intermediate grade exams to ensure you are not just creating art, but creating exam-winning work. It is not just about the final output, it is about training your brain to see the world like a designer. Come join us at our Andheri West centers and start your artistic journey. ## About Arkin Art & Design Hi, I am the founder of Arkin Art Classes.
