At ARDS, we focus on the funk, the history, and the character behind every move. Whether you're learning your first Lock or trying to land a Freeze, we prioritize the groove and the story over simply mastering a drill. ### Master the Funk Our Funk and Foundation program is built to teach you the history and the culture behind the movement. We don't just teach choreography; we teach you how to freestyle, how to connect with the music, and how to find your own swag. **Locking with Gagan Somaiah** Did you know Locking was actually born from a mistake? It's a style built on funk music, sharp movements, and a whole lot of character. In our batches, we get into the roots of the style, referencing legends like James Brown and Prince, ensuring you understand why the move happens before you try to execute it. **Popping & Versatility** Our Popping classes are all about control and dynamics. We blend classic popping techniques with modern music, often mashing up styles to see what works. It is technical, it is funky, and it is designed to push your body's limits. **Breaking Fundamentals** Led by B-boy Likith, our Breaking classes cover the basics from top rocks to footwork and freezes. Breaking is physically demanding, so expect to work on your strength and agility. This isn't just about the power moves; it's about building a solid vocabulary of movement that allows you to express yourself on the floor. ### Why Train With Us * **Small Batches:** We keep numbers controlled so everyone gets individual attention. * **Performance Ready:** We encourage you to take these skills out of the studio and onto the stage at our seasonal events. * **No Judgment:** Whether you trip, fall, or mess up a count, you are in a safe space. We are building a family here, not just a dance class. ## About ARDS We are ARDS India, a crew based in Indiranagar who believe that dance is for everyone.
