When we design a custom brass hinge or a hand-moulded teak railing, we are physically defining how you navigate your home. These elements are not merely decorative, but essential structural dialogues that dictate the tactile experience of living in your villa or apartment. Architecture BRIO is driven by the belief that the quality of life is determined by the details. We move beyond standard industry catalogs. Instead, we engage in a process of continuous experimentation with materials like warm teak, solid brass, and natural stone. This approach stems from our reliance on physical models and full-scale mockups, where we test the weight of a handle or the curve of a rail before it is installed. For projects like the DUA Villa in Alibaug, this meant designing custom hardware that echoed the arched geometry of the structure itself. In our residential work, such as the Worli Duplex, we treat woodwork not as a finish, but as a structural component. We examine how chamfered coffers or grid patterns in teak panels create shadow and texture. We work alongside local craftspeople to ensure every joint, hinge, and switch plate aligns with the larger architectural intent. This attention ensures that your home is not a showroom of off-the-shelf products, but a reflection of a singular design vision. Whether it is a retractable clothes hanger or a bedside lamp integration, every element serves a dual purpose of function and aesthetics, grounding the architecture in the daily habits of its inhabitants. ## About Architecture Brio We are Architecture BRIO, a collective of architects based in Mumbai and Rotterdam. We believe that a home should feel like a sanctuary, not a showroom, which is why we handle every detail—from the initial sketch to the final brass handle—with our own hands.
