Understanding the critique behind a project helps you see how we approach design challenges—prioritizing human-centric, context-driven solutions over trends. This transparency in our process is what we bring to every new building or renovation we undertake. Architecture is, at its core, a conversation between the architect, the site, and the city. Over our 25 years of practice, our projects—from the Museum of Art & Photography to our heritage restoration work—have been an ongoing inquiry into how we build in India. These features, lectures at institutions like Parul University, and industry recognitions are milestones in that journey. ### Why Our Process Matters to You If you are considering commissioning an architect, you are looking for more than just a blueprint. You are looking for a rigorous design process. Whether we are planning a commercial campus or restoring a heritage structure, we apply the same level of scrutiny that has earned us recognition in journals like Architectural Digest. We focus on: * **Contextual Integrity:** Every design must respect the history and the ecology of its location. * **Material Honesty:** We prefer using authentic materials like granite and exposed concrete that age gracefully. * **User-Centric Evolution:** We design spaces meant to be lived in, not just looked at. Buildings should accommodate the changing needs of the people they serve. When we engage with students or write about our practice, we are refining our own methods. This continuous learning directly influences the quality of our master planning, commercial design, and adaptive reuse projects. We invite you to look through our past work and our public dialogues to understand the depth of thought we will bring to your project. ## About Mathew and Ghosh I am Soumitro Ghosh. Together with Nisha and our team at Mathew and Ghosh Architects, I view architecture as a slow, meditative process of listening to a place. We do not just build structures; we aim to create spaces that have a purpose and the capacity to grow with the people who inhabit them.
