## About Interior Architecture & Design

We see interior architecture as something slow and thoughtful. It’s not about flashy decor or trends, but about making places where light, space, and material come together in a way that’s comfortable and lasting. We’re not chasing “luxury” for its own sake—what matters is that the space feels right, grows with you, and is somewhere you can just be.

### Light as a Material
Natural light is a key part of our design. We use it to create mood, to bring the outdoors in, and to shape how you move through a space. Sometimes it’s a bright, alive room, sometimes it’s a quiet corner with just enough sunlight. Think skylights, open courtyards, and those little moments of shadow that make a room feel alive. This isn’t just for homes—our custom architectural lighting approach works for restaurants, studios, anywhere.

### Honest Materials
We like to keep things simple—exposed concrete, raw steel, wood, stone. We let the textures do the talking. These choices give a sense of permanence, and they’re part of what makes minimalist interior design with natural materials work so well.

### Diverse Projects, Common Thread
Our work ranges from homes that feel like personal sanctuaries to breweries and studios with strong identities. Sometimes, we design one-off details like a sculptural staircase or a facade that changes with the light. We’re big on adaptive reuse architecture too, breathing new life into old buildings without erasing their stories.

### The Way We Work
Every project is a journey. It takes time. We get to know you, the site, and what the place could be. We’re stubborn about making something real and meaningful, even when it’s tough.

## Meet your expert

[Mathew and Ghosh](https://mytribe.in/architects_mathewghosh)

### My story

We’re Mathew and Ghosh Architects—Soumitro here, with Nisha. Bengaluru’s been our home for 30 years, watching the city grow, change, get noisier, and we’re in the thick of it. We don’t hide from the chaos, we try to find beauty in it. What really gets us going is the process, the people on site, the old buildings with stories waiting to be heard. Sometimes it’s like digging for treasure, not tearing things down. Architecture, for us, is a slow, meditative journey with the city.

### My work

- **Architectural Design and Conservation**: We design new buildings, restore heritage sites, and adapt old spaces for new uses. Adaptive reuse architecture and heritage building conservation are core to us.
- **Context-Driven Spaces**: Every project starts with the story of its place—brewpubs under flyovers, homes in the Nilgiris, all shaped by their surroundings.
- **Craft and Material**: We love honest materials like concrete and stone, and often create custom metalwork solutions for light and comfort.
- **Human-Centric Approach**: Buildings should grow with people. Our spaces are made to evolve, not stay static.
- **Team and Collaboration**: It’s never just us—our team and the craftspeople on site bring every project to life.
