We often install vertical bar cabinets alongside textured charcoal feature walls to add depth without eating up your floor space. It keeps your evening coffee or drink close by while making the area look bigger than it actually is. Most Mumbai balconies end up becoming storage dumps, but we change that narrative by treating them as an extension of your living room. We focus on weather-resilient finishes like charcoal sheets and easy-to-clean flooring, paired with subtle lighting to make the area usable well after sunset. ### How We Make Small Balconies Work * **Vertical Utility:** When floor space is limited, we go up. Vertical cabinets for drinks, books, or plants keep the floor clear for seating. * **Material Selection:** We prioritize durable materials that can handle the Mumbai monsoon. Charcoal sheets and anti-skid tiles look great and stand up to the weather. * **Functional Layouts:** Before we start, we ask how you want to use the space. Is it for morning tea, a private reading nook, or a green corner for your plants? We plan the layout around that specific habit. We love seeing how a simple change, like adding a compact bar or the right mix of planters, makes you want to spend time outdoors again. Even the smallest ledge can be a sanctuary if it is planned correctly. ## About Design Barn We are Design Barn. For us, a balcony is a hidden gem in every Mumbai apartment. We don't just add pots and chairs; we look at the structural potential to build custom nooks, bar cabinets, or vertical gardens that actually fit your lifestyle.
