Because my sets rely on crisp layering and immersive bass, I strictly require a sound system with high-quality sub-woofers to ensure that the journey I’m building actually translates to the dancefloor, especially for open-air sundowners or intimate venues. As ALAi, I shift from the high-energy BollyTech of my commercial sets to a deeper, more hypnotic state of mind. This isn't about playing the hits; it’s about the art of the mix—fusing Indian soundscapes with the darker, trippy edges of melodic techno and progressive house. Think of it as a sonic narrative that keeps you locked in for a couple of hours. I’ve spent years digging through old cassettes and new-age electronic gems to find that exact balance where 'desi' soul meets 'techy' precision. Whether it's a beach-side sundowner or a late-night after-party, I build the set to suit the environment, moving through atmospheric trances and heavy progressive grooves. I am very specific about the gear. To really get that 'ALAi' sound right, I need industry-standard Pioneer equipment and a sound setup that can handle the dynamic range of my edits.
