It's a 4x4 feet oil on canvas that explores the connection between our physical and spiritual selves, blending figurative art with surreal elements of nature.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/74e63c60-a616-48bb-acfb-367835dfffb0) - [Video: This is an example of my work with oil on metal, a piece called "The God in small Lives." The rose gold metal sheet has a mirror finish, so when you look closely, your own reflection becomes part of the art. Whether we are planning a large 48x72 inch statement piece or a specific oil-on-metal artwork, I provide bi-weekly updates and digital mockups so you are part of the journey. The goal is to create a piece that feels like it truly belongs in your room, not just something hung to fill a wall. ### My Approach to Custom Art I believe art should be a mirror to our own experiences. When you commission a piece, I look to understand your space and your story. I work across various formats—from 36x36 inch square canvases to sprawling 48x72 inch compositions—and tailor the technique to the mood you want to set. ### The Oil-on-Metal Difference One of the most unique aspects of my work is the experimentation with rose gold stainless steel. Unlike a standard canvas, the unpainted negative space on these sheets acts as a mirror. As you move around the room, your own reflection becomes part of the painting. It is designed to invite you into the work, making the experience of 'svayam'—or self-realization—literal. These pieces require specific maintenance, which I include in the handover package. ### Working with Me I am based in Delhi and ship across India. When we begin, we start with a conversation about narrative and placement. - **Consultation:** We discuss palette and subject to match your interior. - **Execution:** Whether it is high-viscosity oil on canvas or oil on metal, I use archival-grade materials to ensure longevity. - **Process:** I provide digital sketches or mockups before we start, so you know exactly what is coming to your home. If you have a wall that feels incomplete, let's talk about what we can create for it. ## About Ankur Rana I am Ankur. I paint because I am curious, always poking at what makes us human.
