We spend significant time on abhinaya, or facial expressions, because that is where the soul of the dance lives. Whether you are a total beginner or a trained dancer, I strip away the pressure of perfect technique so you can actually feel the music and enjoy the process. ### Why Semi-Classical? Semi-classical dance is all about finding the balance between classical grace and the freedom of Bollywood. It is my favorite way to connect with music. In these workshops, we dive into soulful tracks, focusing on hand gestures (mudras), posture, and the storytelling aspect of the lyrics. ### What to Expect in Class - **No-Judgment Zone:** My studio environment is beginner-friendly. We laugh, we mess up, and we keep it real. It is not about looking perfect; it is about feeling every beat. - **The Structure:** We typically run 2-hour weekend workshops at premium studios like Enso or Ukiyo in Malad West. We learn one full routine, focusing on expression coaching and fluid movements. - **Abhinaya Focus:** We spend a dedicated portion of the class breaking down the lyrics. I help you understand the emotion so your expressions look genuine rather than forced. - **The Takeaway:** By the end of the session, we record our routine. It is a great memory to have, and you walk away with a clear understanding of how to use your expressions in any dance style. ### Who is this for?
