It is not just about the stage time. I spend hours in 'riyaaz' (daily practice) and travel to remote areas for intimate baithaks. When you book me for an event, you are inviting a traditional practice that starts with tuning my instruments and preparing the space—not just showing up to play. My journey with the sitar and surbahar is an ongoing dialogue. It is not confined to the stage where the spotlight is on. Much of my music happens in the quiet hours of the morning during my riyaaz, or while traveling to places like Omkareshwar where the environment itself inspires the notes I play. ### The Importance of Tradition I believe the instrument is a living extension of the musician. That is why rituals like the 'Vaddya Pooja' on Vijayadashami are not just traditions to me; they are a necessary way to honor the tools that allow me to express what words cannot. When I perform, I am carrying forward the guidance of my gurus and the weight of the classical ragas I have studied for years. ### Music for Every Space Whether it is a formal concert, a corporate dinner, or a private puja at home, my approach remains the same—to create a space where listeners can connect with the music. * **For Baithaks:** We keep it traditional, seated on the floor, focusing on the nuances of Shastriya Sangeet. * **For Festivals and Events:** I adapt the repertoire to ensure it feels accessible while maintaining the integrity of the classical form. * **For Studio/Social Media:** I enjoy exploring how classical sound translates to modern recordings, whether it is for a reel or a custom project.
