Because Kuchipudi requires precision in footwork and balance—especially for the *Tarangam* where I dance on the rim of a brass plate—the floor is critical. I always check for a wooden or non-slippery surface well in advance to ensure safety and rhythm. If you are planning an event, this is the first thing we should discuss. My work in Kuchipudi is a constant conversation between tradition and contemporary expression. Aamar mone hoy (I feel) that dance is about storytelling, and whether I am performing a solo recital or a collaborative production, the goal remains the same: to create a genuine connection with the audience. ### The Spectrum of Performance My repertoire ranges from the rigorous classical solo recital to complex, multi-disciplinary productions. When I perform solo, I focus on the core elements of the style—the *Nritta* (pure rhythm) and *Abhinaya* (expressive storytelling). For events requiring a grander scale, I develop thematic productions like *Call of the Flute* or *Mandala*, where I integrate live Carnatic music, painting, and projection to build an immersive experience. ### Behind the Scenes People often see the silk costume and the jewelry, but they rarely see the hours of rehearsal or the logistical planning that precedes a show. A successful performance is a symphony of moving parts: a professional lighting designer, a live orchestra with a vocalist and mridangam player, and proper stage marking. Whether I am performing at a heritage site like Neemrana Fort or a modern auditorium in Delhi NCR, my team and I prioritize these details to ensure the artistic vision is never compromised. ### Why Collaborate? I have danced duets that bring together Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam, and created shows where poetry and live flute music guide the movement.
