Each image here represents hours of rehearsal where I strip away the performance layers to focus entirely on the geometry of the body and the narrative intent. For me, the visual representation of dance is as important as the performance itself. These photographs and video excerpts are not just documentation; they are extensions of the dialogue I have with music, architecture, and nature. When I dance in the woods of Germany or perform within the architectural lines of a space in Singapore, I am looking for the same thing—how the human body interprets space. My work often centers on the meeting of different worlds. You will see this in the fusion of classical Kuchipudi with contemporary settings or in collaborations where live flute or painting becomes part of the choreography. These images reflect that search for connection. Whether I am working with a team for a production at a major cultural centre or creating a solo piece, the goal is always to find honesty in the movement. I believe that art is about storytelling. Each portrait captured here is a snippet of that process, often behind the scenes or during those quiet moments of practice that the audience rarely sees. If you are interested in exploring how we can translate your vision into a production or a choreographed piece, let us talk about the process, not just the final outcome. ## About Amrita Lahiri I am Amrita, a Kuchipudi dancer who believes that every movement carries a story. My work is not just about the performance; it is about the sweat, the collaborative dialogue with musicians, and finding moments of quiet beauty in between. I look forward to bringing that same focus and artistic inquiry to your event or project.
