Every piece you see here starts with selecting high-grade solid wood and durable cane. Whether it is a vintage-inspired cane back or a modern upholstered armchair, I oversee the structural joinery to ensure it lasts for years, not just seasons. Choosing the right chair is about balancing aesthetic appeal with structural integrity. At Alankara, I focus on creating furniture that serves as a focal point in a room while offering genuine comfort. My approach to seating is rooted in traditional craftsmanship, often incorporating solid wood frames and hand-woven cane details that offer a breathable, timeless look. For our cane work, we use high-tensile, naturally sourced material that is processed to resist sagging. The wood is seasoned to prevent warping, ensuring that the chair remains stable in humid climates like Kochi or the changing weather of Bangalore. If you are looking for a modern aesthetic, my upholstered armchairs use high-density foam and premium fabrics designed for daily use without losing shape. You are involved in the selection process. From choosing the wood finish, be it a rich mahogany stain or a natural matte look, to the fabric texture for the seating, every detail is custom. This is not mass-produced furniture; it is a personalized piece designed to fit the scale and style of your specific space. ## About Alankara Homestories I am Alankara.
