At my studio, we turn everyday items like shoes, bags, and t-shirts into personal masterpieces. ## Photos and videos - [Video: In this video, my students explain the personal stories behind the shoes they painted for Mother's Day, from favourite flowers and animals to cherished memories. Whether it is painting horses on sneakers for a birthday gift or designing a custom tote bag for Mother's Day, I focus on the story behind the art. We use fabric-safe paints and guided techniques so every child leaves with a functional piece they are proud to wear or use. Art is a powerful way to build confidence. When kids see their own designs come to life on a t-shirt or a pair of canvas shoes, it changes how they view creativity. It is not just about making something pretty, but about understanding that art can be functional, personal, and tangible. In my Bandra studio, we focus on hands-on craft sessions that encourage original thought rather than copying. We use fabric-appropriate acrylics and permanent mediums to ensure the designs last, while teaching kids the basics of composition and colour theory. ### Why craft projects are different * **Ownership:** When a child wears or uses what they made, they develop a sense of pride that drawing on paper does not always provide. * **Gift-giving:** Many of these projects are designed as thoughtful, handmade gifts, teaching kids the joy of creating for others. * **Freehand approach:** We stick to a no-tracing policy. Even if the lines are not perfect, the character and effort make the piece unique. Parents often ask about the mess. Yes, it happens, but that is part of the process. I provide the supplies, the space, and the guidance so you do not have to worry about cleaning up paint at home. Whether you are looking for a weekend workshop or a special birthday party activity, these sessions are designed to be low-stress and high-impact. ## About Alafiyas Kinderart Hi, I am Alafiya.
